Red Dog Linings expands apprenticeship programme

Red Dog Linings, abrasion resistant solutions manufacturer based on Carlton Road Industrial Estate in Barnsley has expanded its apprenticeship programme. The company employs over 80 people and currently employs 2 apprentices, exports products worldwide but is seeing a resurgence in the UK business which includes industrial refurbishment and roll reclamation for the steel industry.

Connor Cook, Apprentice Connor Cook, age 21 from Athersley North, Barnsley started at Red Dog Linings last autumn and is studying with Barnsley College towards an NVQ Level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations with the course including fabrication and welding. Connor is studying on day release from the company and will complete his qualification in Summer 2018.
