Red Dog Linings hires RISE graduate

Lawrence Febvre has joined Red Dog Linings as a Trainee Estimator and CAD Planner. Lawrence, from Ipswich, lived in Plymouth for 3 years whilst studying at the University of Plymouth where he completed his BEng (Hons) Marine Technology earlier this year.

Run by Sheffield City Council in conjunction with both Sheffield universities, the RISE scheme introduces graduates who want to work hard and do great things for SME businesses in the Sheffield City Region who appreciate an injection of energy and new ideas. Since 2012, the award-winning scheme has supported over 300 SMEs to employ over 400 graduates in the Sheffield City Region, and is on track to contribute more than £7million to the local economy.

Lawrence said “I applied for the role online and got invited for 2 interviews at Red Dog Linings facility in Barnsley. One for a formal meeting and understanding and the second for an informal testing stage. I’ve had a few job offers since leaving university but chose Red Dog Linings because it was closer to my field of interest and felt if offered me a greater opportunity to develop my career.”

Managing Director, Phil Leonard said “Red Dog Linings is a growing international business in a specialised market, manufacturing hardfacing products and refurbishing components for the global, steel, mining, waste to energy, cement, pulp and paper, wood chip and glass markets. We need to continue to invest in our people and their skills as they are at the core of our business to continue to provide high standards of quality and customer service.”
